A classic early-'60s ES-335 featuring an original Cherry finish and block-inlay fretboard, similar to the one played by Eric Clapton during his Cream-era! This example is in good vintage condition showing minor cosmetic blemishes and finish checking, with some heavier finish checking on the back of the neck. Missing the original pickguard, replaced tailpiece, replaced Grover tuners, re-fret with a new nut and the face of headstock was stripped and fitted with 1920s L-5-style "The Gibson" and torch inlay in the '70s by Strings 'n' Things in Memphis. The neck features the slimmer ’60s profile, which plays great and is fast and comfortable. This guitar is fitted with original early PAT# humbuckers delivering the perfect balance of fatness, clarity, output and liveliness. The neck pickup is warm and detailed with an open, smooth tone and the bridge pickup is thick, yet cutting with a ton of punch. Both pickups deliver an abundance of incredible overtones, which combined with the woodiness of the hollowbody, create a rich, complex tone. A killer vintage ES-335! Includes non-original hardshell case.
