A stunning pre-war Washburn Tonk Bros. Model 5237 featuring a Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, beautifully adorned with ivoroid body and soundhole binding, and abalone fingerboard inlays. This example [#1912] shows heavier finish wear, checking, dings, neck overspray, and has a repaired center seam crack; however, it is in excellent playing condition with a wide fretboard and sizable neck with a big V-profile fitted with jumbo frets for an updated feel. This guitar features an X-braced top for a big, balanced sound with excellent projection, a warm, woody tone, detailed clarity, and plenty of headroom.
