1953 Gibson '57 Les Paul Goldtop Pat# Conversion
This 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop was lovingly converted to '57 Specs with a replaced bridge/era-correct tailpiece, a neck reset, a replaced nut, a beautiful refret by Holger Notzel, and routing for a set of fantastic-sounding purple wire '63 Patent # PUs performed by Ken McKay for LP tones that'll make you drool. The pickguard, wiring harness, and tuners are original, as well as the stunning Goldtop finish. Other modifications include a refinished back, a swapped jackplate, and a replaced pickguard, although the original is included in the original Lifton case pictured here. The resonance of this guitar is impressive, incredibly lively, and sounds fantastic with tons of sustain and harmonics when you plug it in. This is about as good as a 52/53 - '57 conversion gets!
