1954 Gibson J-160E
This first-year '54 Gibson J-160E plays great with a full, rounded contour! The J-160E was one of Gibson’s early attempts at producing an acoustic/electric instrument featuring a laminate, ladder-braced dreadnought body with a unique built-in magnetic pickup between the end of the fretboard and soundhole. This example is in very good condition with dings and finish checking. The acoustic tone is tight, dry, and woody, and really shines when plugged in, with a strong mid-range presence and a vintage acoustic/electric tone provided by the original P-90-style pickup. The perfect vintage acoustic/electric for the stage! Includes original hardshell case.
