1958 Gretsch 6121 Chet Atkins
1958 Gretsch 6121 Chet Atkins
The 6121 was created as the “solid-body” counterpart to the popular 6120 hollow-body Chet Atkins signature guitar and is very similar to the Duo-Jet model featuring a single-cutaway chambered body, Bigsby vibrato tailpiece and dual Filter’Tron humbuckers, This example near stock with a replaced master volume pot and is in very good condition for its age with normal finish checking, wear, minor dings and shrinkage of the neck heel cap plastic and binding. Plays well with a comfortable medium-D neck profile and low action with a smooth response throughout. The chambered body reduces weight and adds a very nice resonance and warmth to the guitar, combining well with the Filter’Tron pickups to produce a signature full, twangy, punchy vintage Gretsch tone. An incredible-looking, playing, and sounding instrument! Includes original hardshell case.
