Liz Herrin has 20+ years of experience in music retail in Seattle, including over 10 years as a guitar tech at Emerald City Guitars. Liz has a talent for guitar setups and has worked on over 25,000 guitars in her career.

Karl Van Der Velden
Guitar Tech
Karl has been in the guitar world since he first picked up his 1973 Fender Stratocaster at age 16. Karl studied guitar repair with famed Luthier Charles Fox, and has been working at Emerald City Gutiars since 2019. Karl has a versitle skill set spanning from setups, to pickup swaps and electronic work, to fret work and more.
Repair Rates
*Prices based on a repair labor rate of $110 per hour and apply to guitars in otherwise good working order. Actual prices may vary depending on your guitar. Parts, strings, rush fees, and taxes are an additional charge. We take a lot of pride in our repair shop and we will go the extra mile to make sure our customers are satisfied!
* For rush service (when available), add an additional 50% to standard repair fee
SETUPS are $110 plus strings and tax, and include the following: restring with your choice of stringsclean and/or oil fingerboard, check and adjust intonation, check tuners and all hardware, adjust truss rod if needed, check and adjust nut slots, check and adjust string height, check electronics and pickups, check frets for wear and uniformity

Amp Repair
Emerald City Guitars offers expert tube amplifier repair in affiliation with Solderhaus. Amp repairs can be dropped off anytime 10am-4pm Monday-Saturday. Amp repair is billed at $100/hr for labor plus the cost of parts.
