1937 Epiphone Electar Model C
The Epiphone Electar Model C serves as an important piece of electric guitar history as it was one of the first produced "Spanish" electric guitars. A flat laminated maple top and heavy construction were intended to help reduce feedback and were quite a departure from other guitars of the era. The original pickup delivers a bright, twangy almost strat-like tone that is super vibey with a charming vintage character. This '37 serial #1228 example displays heavy wear and use but plays smoothly with a couple of difficult spots further up the neck which features a comfy soft-V profile that cradles beautifully in the hand. This is a cool piece of electric guitar innovation! Includes original hardshell case.
