This beautiful Super 400 hails from our Kalamazoo Collection—a remarkable collection of we acquired from a lovely couple who helped close the doors to the original Gibson factory in June 1984. Many of the guitars in this collection were preserved in new old stock condition, and this one is in excellent playing shape with some heavier finish flaking, which is characteristic of many other guitars of this era. It plays perfectly and sounds incredible, with a robust and dynamic note response for a beautiful, dry and woody archtop tone. Dating back to the early ’70s, this Super 400 is a true time capsule of Gibson’s Norlin Era, complete with a massive headstock and the signature Norlin-era color palette. Snag this guitar if are looking for a unique archtop that is virtually unplayed and comes with some serious Gibson provenance! Includes original hardshell case.
