Early 70s Gibson Super 400C [*Kalamazoo Collection]
Early 70s Gibson Super 400C [*Kalamazoo Collection]
This instrument came from our recently acquired "Kalamazoo Collection." We acquired the collection from a married couple that worked at the original factory from the late 50s until the factory closed in June of 1984. These pieces are uncirculated and mostly untouched in mint or near-mint condition ~ The collection also includes 1000s of pieces of memorabilia, new-old-stock parts, and more ~ reach out with any/all inquiries!
We believe this Super 400C was rejected as a factory second due to the heavier finish chipping on the neck displaying a heavier patina with cloudy finish on the headstock and checking throughout. This well-constructed Jazz boz plays amazingly well with excellent note response and sounds great with a perfect dry archtop character. This stunning Archtop came from the early 70s and serves as a unique time capsule from the Norlin Era. If you are looking for a unique archtop that is virtually unplayed and comes with some serious Gibson provenance then look no further! Includes original hardshell case.
