An incredibly rare '69 Rosewood Telecaster! These guitars were designed for Fender in the 1960s by former Rickenbacker luthier, Roger Rossmeisl later reaching an iconic status with George Harrison's use of the prototype model towards the end of his Beatles career. This example has a swapped Steve Tillyer bridge PU and a removed tone cap with some evidence of solder repair but is in original condition otherwise. Cosmetically very good condition with heavier cosmetic wear on the back, dings, checking, and there is a small neck pocket crack that is not structurally compromising. This Tele Plays beautifully with a medium-C neck profile and sounds excellent, delivering a classic late-'60s/early-'70s Tele tone with added sustain, warmth, and complexity from the all-Rosewood construction. This is a highly collectible vintage Fender, and it is worth mentioning that it came to us from Simon Kendall of the notable Canadian band "Doug and the Slugs" whose bandmate purchased it brand new in '69. Includes modern hardshell case.
